How to Use This Plan During Difficult Times
Daily Reading for Healing Hearts:
- Start with honest prayer: "God, I'm hurting. Help me see You in this"
- Read slowly, looking for how God understands your specific situation
- Ask: "How does this show God cares about what I'm going through?"
- Don't rush - some days you might need to sit with one verse for a while
For Reading Together:
- Share honestly about where you're struggling - no need to fake being okay
- Take turns reading, and it's fine if your voice breaks or you need to stop
- Talk about how the verses connect to your real-life situation
- Pray for each other's specific needs and pain
- Remember: healing isn't linear - some days will be harder than others
Building Your Prayer Life Through Pain:
- Honest prayers: "God, I'm angry/sad/confused about..."
- Crying prayers: It's okay to cry while you pray - God collects your tears
- Scripture prayers: When you don't have words, read a psalm to God
- Silent prayers: Sometimes just sitting quietly with God is enough
- Walking prayers: Pray while getting fresh air and moving your body
Special Focus for Relationship Pain:
- Week 1: Let God's love fill the empty spaces in your heart
- Week 2: Know that even when people leave, God never will
- Week 3: Learn to trust God's plan even when relationships end
- Week 4: Pour out your heart to God - He can handle all your emotions
- Week 5: Let God's word reshape how you think about love and relationships
- Week 6: Discover how your pain can eventually help others
